The Dimmer Shutter housing shall be manufactured from two aluminum formed plates that are 0.86 in. (2.18 cm.)
thick. Circular Shutters shall be motor driven, able to open and close. In the fully open position it shall provide a 4 in.
(10.16 cm.) circular opening. In the fully closed position it shall completely block the 4 in. (10.16 cm.) circle diameter
opening provided in the housing. Shutters shall be enclosed in the housing which outside dimensions will not exceed
8-½ in. (21.6 cm.) wide by 6-¼ in. (17.14 cm.) high not including the mounting clamp. Its maximum depth including
the drive motor will not be more than 2-5/8 in. (6.6 cm.) The outer dimensions of the unit shall be made to conform
to the shape of the interior of the GOES unit for which it has been designed.
The top of the Dimmer Shutter assembly shall have two grooves cut from front to back which are 3-3/4 in. (9.5 cm.)
on center and 5/16 in. (.79 cm.) wide and positioned to align with the focusing shaft of the GOES unit. Adjacent to
the slots, 3-5/16 in. (8.4 cm.) on center, shall be two 1⁄4 in. (.63 cm.) threaded bolts secured by nut and lock washers.
Also provided shall be two wing nuts and springs which will fit over the threaded nuts to provide spring tension
against the top clamp. The top clamp shall be fabricated from 0.86 in. (2.18 cm.) thick aluminum, formed into a Ushape
with open notches so as to clamp to the GOES focusing shaft. Two 1⁄4 in. (.63 cm.) holes shall be drilled on
2-5/16 in. (5.87 cm.) centers to align with the 1⁄4 in. (.63 cm.) bolts. Two wing nuts and locking washers shall be provided.
Clamp shall measure 4-1/4 in. (10.8 cm.) wide, 1-1/16 in. (2.7 cm.) front to back, and 1/2 in. (5.27 cm.) high.
Circular Shutters shall be mounted between the two outer plates of the housing and able to move between
the full open and full closed position. Each blade shall be secured to a drive arm and guide at the top.
A guide tab will also be provided at the bottom which will slide in Teflon® track. A stepping motor mounted
to the housing will use a stainless steel wire drive. It shall be guided through a series of Teflon® rollers. It
will also be provided with a tensioning spring to insure smooth transitions. Attached to the stepping motor
shall be a 40 in. (101.6 cm.) control and power wire sleeved in high temperature fiberglass and terminating in
a 4-pin Melmex-type connector which is compatible to the Power Supply (separate item). Overall dimensions
of the Dimmer Shutter shall be 7-5/16 in. (18.57) high, 8-1/2 in. (21.6 cm.) wide and 2-3/4 in. (6.98 cm.) deep.
Finish shall be powder coated black. Shutter Dimmer shall be model number TS5292 as manufactured by
GAMPRODUCTS,INC., Los Angeles, CA. |
