| GOES DOWSER DIMMER SHUTTER OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS |
TS5292 |
DO NOT PLUG OR UNPLUG DOWSER FROM POWER SUPPLY WHEN POWER IS ON OR SEVERE DAMAGE MAY OCCUR.
After you have installed the Dowser Dimmer Shutter, follow these instructions: If you are using the Dowser with an accessory such as the TwinSpin™, also see the TwinSpin™ operating instructions and follow those instructions because the “Mode” and channel selected to operate the accessory will determine the channel of operation for the Dowser. For example, if you use a single channel of control for the TwinSpin™ operation and it is set to channel 1, then the Dowser will automatically be channel 2. If you select two-channel control and you start with channel 1, then 1 and 2 will be used for the TwinSpin™ and channel 3 will address the Dowser. Likewise with three-channel control, if you set the operating channel to 1, then 1, 2 and 3 will operate the TwinSpin™ and the Dowser will be on channel 4. If you are not using an accessory and the Dowser is being used alone, follow the instructions below:
USING THE DOWSER INDEPENDENTLY
The Dowser requires a DMX signal to operate. The operating channel and the “Mode” selection are made from the Dual Power Supply (DPS-120) using the four 10-position rotating switches to make your choices. If you have not installed the Dual Power Supply, please do so, following the separate instructions for installing the Dual Power Supply. The four 10-position switches on the Dual Power Supply are labeled “Mode” for selection of operating
fashion, and the next three are for the 100/10/1 digits channel selection. In order to select channel 5, for example, you would set it to “0-0-5”.
When using the Dowser independently set the “mode” switch to “0”. Then select your channel, being sure that there is no power to the Power Supply when you plug in the Dowser to the 4 pin connector marked “Dowser”. You may now turn the Power Supply on (do not under any circumstances unplug while the Power Supply is on). When power is first applied to the Dowser, it will go through a procedure of initializing with an opening and closing sequence, then it stops. Using a control console with appropriate DMX signal, the Dowser will close at “full,” and will be completely open at “0”. It can be set anywhere in between and moved at the speed of the fade.
SOME CAUTIONS:
- Do not plug or unplug the Dowser or any accessories from the Power Supply when the power is on, as it can cause damage to the power supply.
- Do not use these instructions alone for operating the Dowser along with an accessory. Use the accessory instructions as well.
- The Dowser always requires a DMX signal
to operate.
