Specifications for GAMTUBE
Ultraviolet and decorative color sleeves are manufactured from 2 mill thick clear polyester material welded into a tube. The GamTube™ can be packed flat and are available to fit over T-2, T-5, T-8, T-12 and most compact fluorescent lamps (CFL). The polyester material has a melting point of 480°F (250°C). Color and/or ultraviolet filtering dyes shall be impregnated into the polyester material, and not surface coated. Each sleeve shall be 100 inches (2.5 meters) or 48 inches (1.2 meters) long and have the appropriate inside circumference. A 100 inch tube shall weigh approximately one ounce and all sleeves shall be shipped flat, ready for mounting. GamTubes™ are available in rolls in lengths up to 1000 feet, in a box that measures 12” x 12” x 3.5”.
Correction and decorative colors shall be manufactured with high temperature UV resistant dyes to resist long exposure to the light source. Colored GamTubes™ shall be warranted to be colorfast for one year under normal operating conditions.
GamTube™ UV filtering sleeves shall be manufactured using UV protective materials that have received approval from ANSI (American National Standards Institute) for protection of stored or displayed photographs. The polyester film will have passed the ANSI test method IP 9.2 Photographic Processed Films, Plates and Papers (known as the photo activity test).
GamTube™ UV filtering material will reduce the radiation and the wave length band from 290 to 400 nanometers (nm) to less than 3%. High radiation energy in this segment of the electromagnetic spectrum presents the strongest potential to harm material such as paper, parchment, dyes and pigments. The GamTube™ polyester material will allow 90% of the visible spectrum (400 to 700 nanometers) to pass.
