GAM COMMAND AS A TESTER
TESTING A CABLE. To enter this mode, turn power off then on again. Do NOT press any keys.
To test a five-wire DMX cable, plug both ends of the cable into the connectors at the top of the Gam Command unit. Turn the unit on. On the face of the unit there are five red LEDs which will begin to chase. Chase will be 1 through 5 indicating continuity on each of the cables. If there is a break in continuity, the associated lamp will not light. LEDs flash in sequence if wired correctly. If they 'jump' back and forth (not in sequence), pins are reversed. If there is a short, the two shorted wires will light at the same time, indicating the short between two connections. If testing a three-wire DMX cable there will be no reading on pins 4 and 5.

CHECKING FOR A DMX SIGNAL. b> The Gam Command will check DMX signal from the console. Plug the DMX signal into the Gam Command. Both lamps 2 and 3 will light to show DMX signal from console, if there is no signal‹either 2 or 3 or both will not light.
