Color correction filters such as CTO and CTB are used to change the color temperature of a light source to balance your lighting situation. For example, CTOs are used to change or modify sunlight coming through a window to match an incandescent light source. CTBs are used to change an incandescent light source to match daylight coming through a window.

Neutral Density filters (ND) reduce the light without shifting the color temperature. GAM offers five steps of Neutral Density plus three combination CTO and Neutral Density filters.

GAMFusion is a sequentially stepped series of diffusing materials to reduce the light level in the beam and/or to diffuse the light source, softening the edges and reducing shadows. All GAMFusion materials have whitening agents to insure that there is no warming color shift and are manufactured on a polyester base for heat stability.

Minus Greens (MG) are used to eliminate the peak green output of fluorescent lights and many discharge lamps (also ideal for eliminating the peak green in HMI Sources). Plus Green filters (PG) are designed with the theory that if you can't beat 'em join 'em. If a very large area is lit with fluorescent light fixtures the added incandescent fill lights can be shifted towards green, to match the fluorescents. Later the lab can correct the color in post production. Or when shooting video the camera can be balanced to the situation.

The WindowGrip™family is GAM CineFilters with an adhesive backing for application to a window, WindowGrip™ is available in a 25 feet by 48 inch wide roll and a 6 inch by 25 foot roll (ideal for auto headlights). There are WindowGrip™ filters including CTOs, Neutral Densities, combined CTO and ND, frost, and a UV filter. WindowGrip™ is the ideal solution for car windows because you can roll them up and down after WindowGrip™ is applied

GamColor Swatchbook Information ­ The spectral distribution chart shown on each page of the GamColor CineFilters swatchbook reflects the full energy distribution of a full spectrum light source beam as it passes through the filter. The graph shows the absorption and transmission of colors in the full visible range from 400nm to 700nm, as well as ultraviolet 300nm to 400nm and infrared 700nm to 800nm. This chart allows you to understand the spectral energy distribution of any color. Also shown is the total percentage of light transmission, for example 1523, FULL CTB, 24% Transmission.

The GamColor CineFilter swatchbook measures 3.3 x 4 inches to easily cover your light meter. Each sample is provided with the key information you will need in a quick-and-easy-to-read format. Light loss is given in the nearest f stop and as a percentage. The quick reference chart shows how each filter alters the color temperature of a 3200ƒ (tungsten) and a 5600ƒ (nominal daylight) light source. Color shift (Kelvin temperature) is also shown for each CineFilter as well as mired shift. (For an explanation of mired shift click on Instructions.)
